At Landea Signs Co., Ltd., we manufacture advertising signage and illuminated lettering for customers who need more than an attractive finished product—they need a solution that remains practical to operate and maintain. This modular neon sign case study shows how our team helped a client reduce the cost and disruption caused by failures in conventional one-piece neon signage.
The client had been using integrated neon sign products in which the lighting components were built into a single, non-serviceable unit. Although the signs met their visual-display needs initially, the client encountered a recurring after-sales problem: when one lighting section failed during use, the entire neon product could no longer operate normally.
In practice, this created several costly consequences:
- A localized lighting failure could make the full sign unusable.
- The failed unit could not be practically repaired or serviced on site.
- The client often had to discard the complete neon sign instead of replacing only the damaged lighting component.
- Repeated full-product replacement increased material waste, downtime, and long-term signage costs.
- The customer also faced uncertainty in after-sales support because the original product structure did not allow an efficient maintenance process.
From our manufacturing and project-support experience, this is a common issue in illuminated signage: a visually appealing design is not necessarily a maintainable design. For commercial users, the serviceability of a neon sign can be just as important as its brightness, color consistency, and initial purchase price.

After discussing the client's usage concerns and the cost impact of repeated replacement, our team recommended a split-type neon sign, also known as a modular or serviceable neon signage solution.
Instead of treating the full sign as one sealed lighting assembly, the design separates the replaceable lighting strip from the primary sign structure. This changes the maintenance process significantly. If a lighting strip is damaged or develops a fault later, the client can replace the affected strip section rather than abandoning the whole neon sign.
This approach was selected specifically to address the client's core pain point: avoiding the unnecessary loss of an otherwise usable signage product because of a single component failure.

The split-type structure gave the client a more practical, long-term maintenance path. When a problem occurs, the service focus moves from full-product replacement to targeted component replacement.
For the client, the benefits included:
- Lower replacement costs: Only the damaged light strip needs to be replaced where appropriate, rather than the complete illuminated sign.
- Less operational disruption: The customer can restore the sign's lighting function more efficiently.
- Longer product service life: The main sign structure can continue to be used after a lighting-component replacement.
- Reduced material waste: Reusable sign components are not discarded solely because one lighting section has failed.
- Clearer after-sales support: The modular structure makes it easier to identify the affected part and provide a practical replacement solution.
This was not simply a product substitution. It was a design decision based on the customer's actual operating environment and maintenance concerns. Our team focused on the full ownership experience—not just the initial delivery of the advertising sign.

The customer was highly satisfied with the modular neon sign solution and gave positive feedback on both the product recommendation and our service process. Most importantly, the client gained confidence that future lighting failures would no longer automatically result in the loss of the entire neon signage unit.
This project reinforced an important principle for Landea Signs: durable advertising signage should be designed with future service needs in mind. By combining customized illuminated lettering expertise with a maintainable modular structure, we help customers protect their investment and achieve a more sustainable long-term signage solution.
